Traunreiter path

Enjoy the Valley of Bad Goisern

From the Goiserer bridge, down the river, along a lovely section of the riverside path known as the Traunreiterweg, named after the Traunriders - the men who between the 16th and the 19th century carried provisions by pack-pony along the banks of the Traun.

Time to complete this walk/run is about one and a quarter hours, making this even, easy trail one of the most popular in the region. This walk is particularly suitable for families with pushchairs or even roller-skaters!

A popular addition to this walk/run etc is to then return along the "Soleweg" Soleweg to the bridge in Goisern. This riverside path continues by river and railway to Goisern Jodschwefelbad Station. This is a lovely easy hikingpath also for families with childrens prams and also suitable for handicaped people in wheel chairs.

To walk back another way it is possible to cross the river in Weißenbach and return on the brine pipeline trail to Bad Goisern.

But be careful: Especially in spring, there are a few things to consider: There is often still a lot of snow on the mountains, so be careful when crossing snowfields. After winter, you are usually still a bit "rusty", so warm up accordingly in advance and plan your tour carefully. Let your host know the planned route. This can lead to quick help in an emergency. But there's more to consider:
