Cycling pleasure high above the Gosau Valley
From picturesque Gosau, this route leads to the heights of the Iglmoosalm and on to the Goiserer Hütte at almost 1,600 metres above sea level. The gravel of the forest roads crunches under the tunnels - a worthwhile excursion into the impressive mountains around Gosau.
Start: Tourist information in Gosau - We drive uphill from the post office opposite, past the Gosau indoor swimming pool to the cemetery. Turn right there and follow the old Pass Gschütt road to the B 166. After about 2 km we turn right uphill onto the gravel forest road towards Iglmoosalm. After a short climb, we turn at 3.8 km onto the Wegscheid forest road, which leads to a fork for the time being. Here, after a total of 4 km, we turn left uphill towards Iglmoosalm, which we reach after another 2.4 km. Here we continue uphill for a short distance to the turning point. (A no-driving sign announces the end of the route) We descend again to the Iglmoosalm, continue there for 2 km, then turn left and follow the forest road leading downhill. The route leads sharply right downhill towards Gosau back to the district of Ramsau. After passing the barrier, we now keep to the right on the asphalt road to the main road, turn left there and immediately right again after 20m. So we roll towards the wooden bridge that leads over the Gosaubach, follow the narrow road to the right after crossing it and turn right again at the Vitalhotel back to the starting point.
